Founded by Diane Hahn Bellegarde in 2011, SoundWay is an information technology and mission support services company dedicated to providing high quality, relevant, and reliable services and solutions.   As veterans, Diane and her leadership team started SoundWay as a way to continue to provide service to country through contracting.  They take pride in their “mission-first” approach to information technology:  a potent combination of veteran staff, domain knowledge, state of the industry expertise, competitive pricing and commitment to excellence! SoundWay has experienced great success and growth over the past three years, nearly tripling in size.  They were recognized by Inc 5000 as one of the fastest growing companies in 2016.

However, in order to maintain a competitive edge, SoundWay recognized that they needed to invest in technology that demonstrates their depth of knowledge of technical solutions.  They worked with COMPAREX to research a technical capability that would enable them to increase and improve their company’s degree of technological sophistication.

Working with COMPAREX

With decades of Government contracting experience, SoundWay understands the business of doing and demonstrating IT business and quickly realized that their internal IT infrastructure had to keep pace with industry.  SoundWay recognized the need for an IT infrastructure that was faster, more efficient and more cost effective than their existing IT support structure.   The transition to Office 365 would enable SoundWay to leverage  an architecture that would allow them to seamlessly scale and keep pace with their continued growth.

SoundWay turned to COMPAREX – a global Microsoft award recipient for customer excellence – to deliver a solution that would provide them with all the features, security and scalability they needed.

Rapid Onboarding

Rapid onboarding was critical for SoundWay so COMPAREX set up the initial 28 SoundWay users on Office 365. In parallel, they defined a full service migration to the Cloud. This included discovery, setup, migration, enabling advanced collaborative tools, and more.  COMPAREX continued to demonstrate their mission focus as SoundWay has grown to 65 employees today.

To increase value and reduce risk for SoundWay, the Key Account Manager advised that they should also consider adding backup, mobility and security to their IT environment, especially since they were managing over $2 million in government contracts and supporting Federal clients. SoundWay extended their agreement to include [Desktop Mobility Security], comprised of:

  • Office 365 and Exchange and set-up management
  • 24/7 support
  • One-click Restore
  • Full service back-up management and unlimited retention of all files and emails
  • Management administration (mobile workstation device management, remote app deployment, remote wipe down/lock down, identity management, anti-virus malware, update patches, mobile device management)

Scaling to Support a Dynamic Workforce

Managing corporate growth at such a rapid pace means having IT systems in place that can scale, initiating repeatable and continuous process improvement, which can support an agile, multi-disciplinary, and geographically dispersed workforce with collaborative, secure and mobile applications.

With the security of the Azure cloud and the productivity/collaboration features that Office 365 offers, SoundWay has increased the overall security and protection of its infrastructure.  They continue to realize efficiencies, making it easier for them to deliver faster and more accurately to their clients and staff.  SoundWay capabilities include client delivery areas such as systems engineering and design, software development and integration, mission support, cyber security and project and proposal management support.

Implementing an Office 365 solution and cloud services from COMPAREX has shown greater cost efficiencies through a monthly cost model directly related to usage.  And because SoundWay continues to grow, adding new users is simple and easy to manage, allowing their IT team to focus on more value-based activities.
